While the gusty and dusty conditions at Grinsted Oval on Saturday could be described as challenging, Forbes Rugby Old Boys' Wayne O'Neill said they had a great day.
Mumm was guest speaker at a fundraiser lunch, sharing stories from his Wallabies career and World Cup.
Mumm is also an Australian Ambassador for Borne, a medical research charity looking into the causes of premature birth and he spoke about that work.
A big day's rugby kicked off with junior semi-finals in the morning, and saw the Forbes Platypi take on Orange Emus in the Blowes Clothing Cup in the afternoon.
The Old Boys game was definitely a highlight of the afternoon, plenty of junior players getting to watch their dads take the field.
"In the spirit of the golden oldies, these games always end in a nine-all draw," O'Neill laughed.
But it's clear from the expressions on their faces that locals and visitors alike had a great game.
"The ACT Vets were good," O'Neill said.
"They wanted to come out and support a regional community doing it hard due to the drought."
Funds raised on the day help the Old Boys continue to support the club, organiser Wayne O'Neill said.
This year they were able to help send a couple of local juniors all the way to Japan for the Kids Rugby World Cup.
