Funds from the Federal Government's Building Better Region's Fund and Cabonne Council will deliver Stage 1 of the centre, and as you can see in the picture the community is celebrating.
The facility will serve as an evacuation centre for Eugowra and surrounds in times of emergency, and provide a venue for concerts, conferences, arts and tourism activities, it was announced at an event in Eugowra.
The centre is expected to provide a facility, including a kitchen, large enough for functions and with modern meeting rooms for community use.
Federal Member for Calare Andrew Gee said the development would take community facilities for local residents to the next level.
"It will offer tremendous benefits for the sporting community and events sector, while providing a safe place for people to go in times of emergency," Mr Gee said.
Eugowra Show Society President Sean Haynes said the Eugowra Show and Showground facilities play an important role in the local community.
"We are extremely grateful for the joint funding made available in this announcement to improve and enhance the facilities available for use by the Eugowra community," he said.
Mr Haynes said they would like to thank Andrew Gee, and Cabonne Shire Council's Kevin Beatty, Jamie Jones, Brad Byrnes and Naomi Schroder for their help and support.
"We are so excited to see the Eugowra Showground Precinct develop," Mr Haynes said.
Mr Gee said the advocacy of the Show Society Committee and the whole community has been simply outstanding.
"The Eugowra Show is a great country success story which we all look forward to each year," he said.
"This grant will help ensure it's around for generations to come. Ute barrel racing at Eugowra is here to stay.
"It's a fantastic development for the Eugowra community, both economically and socially," Mr Gee said.
